Drinking well

This article is a response to the excellent article "Ny studie det er 5 typer problem drikkere" published in Norway onthe Journal VG. The French translation would be : Nouvelle étude : il y a 5 types d'addiction à l'alcool.

My philosophy of "drinking well":

Note From the author:

"I wrote this article to give you the solutions to not become an alcoholic. My big rule is education.

I am not the best sommelier in the world, but I am an activist to pass on my heritage: which is eating well (healthy food) and drinking well (pure wine consumption in moderation and responsibility).

Today, industrial food is everywhere: in fast food, in Paris Brasserie, in TV publicity. For my tasting, i was educated with vegetables grown in my parents' garden without chemicals

. For my 14th birthday, I tasted an old eau de vie of plum... It was strong but very pure. This type of drink should not be served as a starter, but last after a hearty dinner or lunch. I remember the long Sunday lunches, when we finished eating with my parents around 5am...

The traditional and artisanal alcohol finished the fireworks and was served for each adult. My parents did not drink this kind of alcohol to get drunk, but to clean their bodies after this flurry of dishes. The right digestive (called eau de vie in french) helps to have a good digestion. My fight against alcoholism is very important for me.

I drink 2 glasses of wine sometimes every day or ecery other day. . Each wine comes from organic farming with spontaneous fermentation. In good company, I can easily drink a bottle of wine while enjoying a good meal. I never wake up with a headache.

Drinking well will not cause you any pain. Finally, it is important to know your limits. When I feel the intoxication reaching a high level, I stop drinking. It is not humiliating to leave a party, or to slip away to rest and drink a little. On the contrary, it is a sign of wisdom.

Do you know it?

Alcohol: from the Arabic word means "subtle thing". According to legend, Arab sailors added alcohol to the water as they crossed the Mediterranean Sea. The alcohol was meant to preserve the water so it would not stagnate.

chemicals arrived on the scene 40 years ago. You can find traces of chemicals in products, such as food, water, wine and alcohol, from conventional agriculture.

My drinking rules to limit the risk of alcoholism.

1) Never drink two types of alcohol at the same time

Have a glass of water and a glass of wine with your meal. Hydration "with water" is very important. This phrase is an understatement, but many people think they are hydrating by drinking soda, beer, or tea. If you drink beer or wine without a glass of water at a party, you may wake up at night with a cramp in your legs (see article on water).

2 Don't drink too much: If you like beer as an aperitif or at a party, a 25 cl glass is enough. Indeed, if you are 5 people, and everyone wants to buy a round. If the beer glass is 25 cl: the total volume will be 1 liter and 25 cl. If the glass of beer is 50 cl: the total volume will be 2 liters and 50 cl. n'

- If you don't like the drink that someone offers you, don't drink it...

- Favor the food-wine pairing, in fact, wine goes well with food

4 Don't drink coffee and dessert wine during the dessert. Coffee will destroy the wine and dessert pairing. Irish coffee and café cognac are always taken after dessert, never during.

5 the substitute for alcohol is water or tea and nothing else. Soda, even without sugar, is too sweet. In my opinion, it destroys the quality of the food. It is like having a glass of water with 8 sugars with your meal. Prefer local juices such as apple juice in Norway for example. But add water to it. For fruit and vegetable juices, in order to avoid diabetes, it is recommended to make a juice of 70% vegetables and 30% fruits.

6 Do not start with strong alcohol, but finish your meal with a strong alcohol to stimulate digestion (2 cl is enough). Cocktails are not appropriate in a restaurant. Having a gin and tonic and then a wine and food pairing is not ideal. Often, cocktails are too sweet and the mixture of several alcohols assault your taste buds.

Never drink 2 alcohol at the same time
Never drink two alcohols at the same time.

The behavior a restaurant:

Even if you are a customer, you must maintain yourself properly at all times. I was taught not to get drunk while drinking, but to enjoy the marriage between food and wine. You can be happy, funny but never sick. I understand that the Norwegian and French cultures are very different. Living in Norway gave me a more relaxed life with the 3 times 8 hours; 8 hours to sleep, 8 hours to work, 8 hours to have fun. I was finally able to enjoy life to the fullest. Also, living in Norway has taught me to recognize my mistakes. This is the great quality of Norwegians. I am grateful to the Norwegian clients who have followed up on my suggestions. Once, someone sent me a complaint because I disagreed with him. When he asked for a beer and champagne, I refused to serve him. At that time, many customers told me "you have to teach us how to drink well":

Wine and sex

Personally: I never have sex with a drunk woman. This is my philosophy. Sex is a gift of self in order to give pleasure to the other. Read the article on sexuality...

Sex and alcohol

The consequence of excessive alcohol consumption is becoming unconscious of what we do.

But also, problems with sex: premature ejaculation for drunken teenagers. For the 40 years old and more, erection problem.

My experience in Norway:

Sex is a gift, a moment of sharing, not masturbation. And many people confuse this... To please; sex is a good time. A few years ago, a beautiful woman wanted to flirt with me. She was drunk on bad beer. She took my phone and entered her own number. "You have to call me tomorrow" Indeed, I didn't want to follow her, she was too drunk" I did the next day...she never answered...she didn't remember me...(laughs) My first rule: don't be a drunk woman....

Johann is an American estate in Oregon. The owner is Norwegian. This is a great surprise for me. Biodynamic demeter (no sulfur for the pet nat), these wines are fresh and completely different from American wines.

The wine: our hero.

The Red Wine Diet, written in 2007, is the title of the book written by Professor Roger Corder (professional member of the American Heart Association and the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. In the UK, he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and a member of the Society for Endocrinology and the British Pharmacological Society). This book is for me a bible of wine. studying the benefits of regular and moderate consumption (mainly red) on health.

But also in life should be a bible in France. It should be read in schools and hospitals. This would be a first and fundamental education for our children and colleagues in the fight against alcoholism and junk food. "Eat, drink and live very old" (Chapter VI, p. 113), as well as research on the health benefits of wine, the professor recommends them to change their habits to prevent diseases. the guide to optimal nutrition" (Chapter XI, p. 233).

Professor Roger Corder author of the book "The wine diet"
extracts:

Wine yes, but in moderation

"Studies of wine drinkers suggest that two glasses of wine provide the greatest benefit (... reduces the overall risk of cardiovascular disease). "

The Health Effects of Wine

"Regular wine drinkers (one to four glasses per day) had less coronary risk than nondrinkers and irregular drinkers, regardless of the type of alcohol consumed."

The Health Effects of Wine,

The Taride Card published in 1933 contains several pieces of information:

"Wine is the healthiest and most hygienic drink (Pasteur).

Average human life, 59 years for a water drinker, 65 years for a wine drinker.

87% or centenarians are wine drinkers.

Wine is the milk of old people."

Compile your test score by adding the points (in parentheses) you received for each answer.

If you get more than eight points on this test, consider steps to reduce your drinking, according to Norwegian Health Informatics.

Zone 1:
A score of zero to seven for men, or zero to five for women, means you have low scores and are in the low risk zone.

Your responses show that you never (at 0 points) or sometimes drink alcohol and that you control it well.

Zone 2:
Eight to fifteen male scores, or six to fifteen female scores, means you are at increasing risk.

It may appear that you are drinking alcohol in a way that puts you at risk for developing alcohol-related problems . You should think about your drinking and perhaps consider changing your drinking

Zone 3:
16 to 19 in score means you are in the high risk zone.

You drink alcohol in a way that puts you at high risk for developing alcohol-related problems. You should consider cutting down on your drinking. You may want to talk to someone about your drinking. For example, your general practitioner, other people in the support service, a family member, friend or colleague.

Drinking too much alcohol is a very dangerous disease.

My opinion on the test :

In this test, he mixes wine and hard alcohol...I drink 1 to 2 glasses of wine 4 times a week (I got 4 points). The consumption of a good wine is not bad for your health, on the contrary (see above Wine diet). above Wine diet). Then the question "How many units of of alcohol do you consume on a "normal" day? I'm sorry, but the consumption of 1 to 2 glasses of wine per day and the consumption of day and drinking 1 to 2 cocktails or whiskies per day have a different impact on our have a different impact on our body. Otherwise, I got 5 points only, so everything is fine.

My recommendations:

  • If you are a parents, you must to be an example for your children, and not be drunk in front of them. If you like wine, give it a taste (not drink) wine when your children are teenagers. The wine service is a ceremony, they have to get used to it. If all the parents do an education to children about alcohol, they will not become alcoholics.
  • Apply my philosophy of drinking well (above)
  • Do you determine a limit not to be exceeded. It is necessary to better distribute a consumption (like me 1 or 2 glasses of wine per day) than from take nothing for 4 days and get (completely) drunk during the week-end
  • Do not drink soft drinks instead of alcohol. The sugar compensates for your lack of it. Soda will not rehydrate you, but will make you fat. Drinking lemon water will break the sugar craving. If you start the morning with soda, you are probably craving it. If you start the morning with soda, you are probably craving it. If you start the morning with a soda, you are probably craving it because the soda gives you the sugar dose that alcohol does. alcohol. It's a serious warning sign about your alcohol consumption. (Seen in France, in the entourage of natural wine professionals). natural wines).
  • Drinking water for hydration during wine glasses, if you do not don't drink alcohol because your drive a car, the water is fine better to accompany dishes prepared by a good chef of kitchen, but also much healthier than soda for your health. We hydrates with water, but not with coffee, tea or soda. In order to break the sugar independence, my recommendation is to drink water with a hint of lemon. If you ask for a soda at the restaurant at the same time as a glass of wine, your subconscious mind wants to slow down your consumption of alcohol, by giving you more sugar with soda. It is a heresy. The soda will destroy the taste of the wine
  • Give priority to wine with beer, beer bubbles with beer will open your stomach with a hunger. sensation Re-eat in a fast food restaurant late at night because you drank too much beer, is a danger for your health (overweight, diabetes etc.....)
  • Drink not to get drunk, but to drink to enjoy and discover aromatic sensations and with moderation and responsibility. .
  • Elaborate a detailed personnal " logbook" on your daily alcohol consumption
  • We should not look for the effect of drunkenness in alcohol. When I drink wine, I look for the effect of the complexity of the aromas, the length of the wine's mouth, the elegance or the power of the wine's palate.
  • Choose wine over the rest of the alcohol. But especially the artisanal wine. Learn about this type of wine, and go out to places that offer this type of wine. Several applications exist: "Raisin" is an app for organic/natural wine. It allows you to find restaurants offering this kind of wine. Tasting a homemade wine (and not an industrial wine that represents 95% of the world's wines) activates my neurons unlike drinking industrial beers. ("Films, football, beer and especially games were their horizon and filled their minds. Keeping them under control was not difficult" from Georges Orwell's 1984 book)
  • Favour the food and wine pairing. It gives a firework display in the mouth. The pleasure is immeasurable.
  • Alcoholism is an addiction....It is necessary to know its source: Why are you addicted? According to Lise Bourbeau (psychologist 1), author of the book "Les 5 blessures qui empêchent d'être soi-même" ( The 5 wounds that prevent you from being yourself) published by E.T.C. The wound of abandonment gives the mask of the addict. The solution is simple: love your life and yourself, accept what you have had, and above all forgive. Frustrations, bitterness, and regrets are often the source of an addiction by plunging into alcohol.

Experiences experiences :

My cousins:
In Quebec, alcohol consumption is high but is high but less devastating. Educ'alcool, an initiative initiative of the SAQ - Quebec liquor company, helps them to get to get less drunk. The emphasis is on the fact that drinking wine should be for that drinking wine should be for pleasure and not for the effects of alcohol.

A education method like Educ'alcool in Quebec should be created all over the world, it will be a fantastic change. Alcoholism is a scourge that affects the whole world, it can be It can be stopped through education from adolescence onwards.

The difference between wine and alcohol education.

On the 17th May 2016 in Norway, after my work, I went to two different places . The first was a wine bar. All the world was happy, respectful but not too much drunk... A moment very pleasant. The second place was a normal bar. There was a lot of many fights. Why this difference: the first comes from the education of "well drinking". The wine drunk while eating you provides pleasure and "joie de vivre" (gladness). For the seconde place, alcohols drunk in an bad and wild way without, limitless, make you bitter and aggressive.

A glass of artisanal wine will encourage me to define the aromas in the wine and will encourage my brain to work. Except for an industrial beer (pee beer for me), or a soda will be more of a product of insipid consumption that will put your taste buds and neurons to sleep.

In conclusion: I can never say it enough, everybody have our lives in our hands, the solution is in us. Education is essential so that our children do not become alcoholics. And if you have alcohol addiction problems, if you realize it, it is already a great victory.

"Drinking in moderation and responsibility is proof of a savoir vivre, and this savoir vivre maintains the intelligence and lucidity of the person who practices this philosophy. Jczen 2019 "

1/ About the author Lise Bourbeau: The book helped me a lot. I saw her picture on her website. My empathy gave me a negative intuition about this lady. Could there be a cult behind it? I don't know. My philosophy is to read and listen to all information, to take the positive and leave the negative. And above all to follow my intuitions...
